My name is Makailey De Almeida, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, and life stressors that can impact emotional well-being and daily functioning. My goal is to help clients feel genuinely understood, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

My path into nursing and mental health care reflects a deep commitment to both lifelong learning and service. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University before obtaining my Associate Degree in Nursing from Lansing Community College. While working full-time and raising my family, I returned to school to earn a second bachelor's degree in nursing from Eastern Michigan University School of Nursing. I later completed my Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University and became board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I have more than 10 years of healthcare experience, including five years working in inpatient psychiatric care. These experiences taught me the importance of listening carefully, meeting people where they are, and recognizing the resilience that exists even during life's most difficult seasons. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment with warmth, authenticity, and collaboration. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, education, and lifestyle-focused strategies designed to support whole-person wellness.

I have a particular interest in working with individuals navigating ADHD, neurodivergence, trauma, anxiety, and mood-related concerns. I believe that meaningful healing occurs when people feel safe enough to be themselves and supported enough to grow.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, hiking, visiting the beach, and caring for plants and animals. These experiences help keep me grounded and continually remind me of the value of balance, connection, and growth.

My hope is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together toward your goals. It would be a privilege to be part of your journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
